Introduction

Within an organisation, it is important that both the employer and employee understand basic laws that affect their relationship. One such law is the Basic Conditions Employment Act (No. 75 of 1997).

In an organisational setting the Human Resources department is mandated with the duty to make sure labour laws are adhered to, but this does not exonerate the employee from understanding their rights. This course will expose you to the most basic parts of the Basic Conditions Employment Act (No. 75 of 1997). In helping you as a student, these basic parts are expressed in the form of questions with a simplified answer provided.
