You will be responsible for the total HR function within a particular business unit, relating to recruitment, industrial relations, training (soft skills), employee benefits, policies, organisational structures, performance management, employee assistance and HR-related administration.
Well require your subject matter expertise regarding HR-related advice on a daily basis, including ensuring that the business unit adheres to the relevant HR policies and procedures. From time to time, you will take on HR-related projects and may be required to undertake HR-related research as the need arises. In the majority of times, you will be required to function independently without direct supervision.
This exciting position demands a BCom/BCom Honours degree in Human Resource Management plus a minimum of 4 years experience in a generalist HR field - either in a manufacturing or mining environment.
Knowledge of relevant legislation (Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, etc), computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, excellent communication (in particular excellent English speaking, reading and writing) and administration skills, as well as good conflict handling abilities are vital.
To be considered ideal, you must be able to work and communicate with all levels of employees up to Senior and Executive level, show sound judgement and decision-making and be able to deal with a number of issues at the same time, while still showing attention to detail.
