A dynamic company based in Fourways is looking for a Business Development Manager


  • This role is expected to drive sales for the company Group
  • The incumbent will work closely with the Manager Director and would require developing and executing short term and long-term strategy in marketing and sales opportunities (including new products)
  • Identifying and pursuit of new sales opportunities, take the initiative with building and deepening existing relationships, maintaining and expanding client portfolio
  • To create and develop commercial opportunities with existing clients maximizing account and revenue growth
  • To build a pipeline of future work and ensure that the companys existing client revenue target is achieved 
  • Participating and contributing to the delivery of the Corporate Clients plan and strategy
  • Apply fiscal acumen, accounting expertise and experience in ensuring that the company delivers a consistent engagement model to its Corporate Clients like institutional investors, banks, multinational corporates, private equity funds etc
  • To negotiate beneficial and competitive rate cards and contracts with client procurement teams 
  • To obtain client feedback and drive increases in client satisfaction and engagement

Sales and Account Growth:

  • Co -responsible for the implementation of the relevant market annual sales plan (from agreed upon key intermediaries) where each key account manager will identify the specific intermediaries that make up the plan; the plan will accommodate for revenue from new intermediaries on-boarded; and increased revenues from existing intermediaries 

Key Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strategic account and sales plans (i.e. SOAP) 
  • Preparation of responses to request for tender, preferred supplier programs, MOUs, intermediary agreements
  • Participation with other Corporate client hubs in regular internal client service meetings and client meetings

Marketing and Product Development:

  • Development of key marketing and product collateral
  • Stays informed and up to date on relevant compliance, financial, tax, legal and business developments
  • Builds long term relationships with clients
  • Manages client expectations
  • Handles all client issues as part of a Corporate Client Team 
  • Professionally transmits the companys capability towards achieving optimal and compliant solutions

Risk Management:

  • Obtains documentation (KYC, due diligence, supporting documents) as needed by the account team
  • Maintain relevant compliance up to date as well as ensuring that all pitches/tenders are of a compliant nature
  • Comply with all internal procedures regarding the correct use of automated   programs for recording all mandatory client and company data

Other Duties:

  • Undertake the role of Manager/ Corporate Director / Personal Director / Company Secretary, MLRO and Compliance Officer of client entities, and as well as internal entities, where necessary and required by the Management
  • Undertake such duties, related to position as may from time to time be assigned by the Management



  • Prefer Attorneys or Tax Experts
  • Need to have a good network of clients
  • Need to know tax laws
  • 5 years experience in a similar position
  • Own vehicle and valid drivers license
  • Must be willing to travel a lot to Cape Town and various African countries
  • Proven track record of sales capacity and commercial skills
  • Consistently maintains good working knowledge of relevant fiduciary, corporate holding, jurisdiction and investment topics
  • Exposure to service-oriented businesses, particularly financial services, International taxation
  • Able to use logic, effectively identify, collect, organize and accurately document data and/or information in ways that make it more useful for subsequent assessment, analysis, investigation and use by the account team
  • Education at University level (law, economics, Masters in Business Administration) or equivalent, and/or extensive experience in similar role
  • Working experience within the financial or legal services (international tax planning) area, covering client contacts and sales with international exposure
  • Up to date informed on relevant tax and legal developments
  • Excellent English communication skills and additional languages preferred
