Workshop Manager at Execustaff Recruiting Services SA (Pty) Ltd

Responsible for managing the workshop

Technical: scheduling of the monthly services of trucks, trailers and tailifts, inspection of all technical work completed

Effectively action and handle all breakdowns and provide improvement analysis to reduce breakdown incidences

Training, managing and development of staff

Effective management technical staff

Responsible for risk management and safety

Frequent safety checks

Conduct toolbox talks

Monthly audits to ensure continues safety

Prepare management reports: cost, breakdowns, purchases etc.

Ensure correct ordering of all service and repair parts

Ensure correct stock holding to maximise unit uptime, efficiencies and productivity

Ensure zero stock losses

Ensure that the quality of work and the jobcards are as per schedule

Compile, administer and implement an effective and efficient 24/7/365 service and repair resources schedule

Manage the Daily Operating Controls to administer and manage all aspects of the depot workshop and admin operations

Managing the fleet maintenance according to company standards

Plan scheduled and unscheduled work - liaising with the operations staff advising them of availability of vehicles and progress on vehicles in the workshop

Explore resolutions to optimise the fleet performance and minimise fleet downtime

Co-ordinate breakdowns

Carry out vehicle surveys with regards to damages

Daily checking licencing, damages, inspection of underdeck, loadbody inspection, tailift inspection, vehicle health, breakdown register and 3rd party breakdowns

Conduct spot checks frequently

Fuel emission testing and load testing

Manage/correct any violations

Report any incidents or accidents

Responsible for yearly service planning

Ensure preparation/planning of yearly and quarterly audits

Managing shift roster

Sign off defect slips, monthly jobcards and quotations

Compiling of technical reports

Monitoring WIP

Responsible for COFs, weighbridge certificates

Keep fleet files up to date



Grade 12 with MS Office (Advanced) + Code 8 Drivers License

Trade or Technical Qualification (Advantage)

SYSPRO Preferred

Minimum 5 Years relevant experience, preferably as a Workshop Foreman / Manager in the Mechanical / Technical / Fleet Servicing Environment

Sound Fleet / Heavy Duty Transport, Technical and Product Knowledge - Strong Technical and Problem Solving Skills

Management of Staff, KPI's, Operations and Principals

Willing and able to work irregular hours

Hardworking and ability to work in a Pressurized Environment
