International Premium brand retailer, with international HO is seeking to employ a Planning Manager (Co-Packaging Manager) to join their team.


The Co-packing Manager has to assure that products are developed and produced according to the specifications defined by the Marketing Team and that the quantities agreed with one or more co-packer are delivered according to a production plan which can cover the Sales forecast.


Throughout the whole process the Co-packing Manager has to provide Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales Team with a full visibility on the sourcing and production phase of co-packed items.


In addition,  Co-packing Manager has to control the costs of the whole Co-packing process and to propose actions to gain cost savings whenever needed. The role includes responsibility to source goods from group companies in Europe and to ensure the smooth operation of all activities related to the physical management


Key Responsibilities

  1. The Co-packing manager is responsible to work with the Marketing team during the development of Co-packed items to:
  • be aware of the product range and highlight potential issues as soon as possible during the production phase
  • the Co-Packing Manager should have an active support role in developing product ideas; provide active support in product development in terms of cost savings while sourcing and co-packing
  • provide input in terms of latest innovation within packaging and/or invite suppliers to present innovation pipeline
  • set, communicate & track timeline to ensure in-time market launch


  1. Once the range of Co-Packed items has been fully developed by the Marketing team, the Co-packing manager is responsible to:
  • liaise with the Marketing team, Sales team and Demand Planner to get the final sales forecast and place purchase orders accordingly to the agreed forecast
  • use the Sales forecast to place the purchase orders of chocolate and other components and track their status
  • use the Sales forecast to agreed with the co-packed the production plan and track the status of the production once it starts
  • liaise with the Supply Chain to update the team on the expected inbound flows of co-packed items
  • liaise with the demand planner to notify issues or delays which can create a shortage or an excess of co-packed products


  1. The co-packing manager is also in charge of implementing the co-packing strategy defined by the Company, that is:
  • every season potential cost savings have to be checked (e.g. launching a tender with many co-packers, modifying one or more components, etc.);
  • implement an effective procedure to control the costs of co-packed items (production and storage);
  • provide the Company with a full visibility of the status of the co-packing process in term of both components and finished products
